Dr. Lou D’Orazio Ingersoll Council · 2026

Candidate for Councillor · Town of Ingersoll

A stronger downtown. A stronger Ingersoll.

I want to help build an Ingersoll that is welcoming, vibrant, business‑friendly and proud of its community – with practical improvements to our downtown, our local businesses, our streets and our public spaces.

The signature idea

Don’t just get people downtown. Give them a reason to stay.

Seasonal patios. Sidewalk cafés. Outdoor seating. Markets, live music and family events. Underused spaces turned into places people gather.

More people downtown means more customers for local business, longer evenings on Thames Street, and a town centre that feels alive from morning until night. Where it is safe and appropriate, the Town should streamline approvals and set clear, predictable rules for businesses that want to offer outdoor space.

Who I am

A neighbour who listens first

Being a Councillor isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about listening – to residents, seniors, young families, local businesses, community organizations, property owners, youth, and the people who never come to a Council meeting.

I’m running to bring people together, ask the difficult questions, and help turn community priorities into action. I want residents to feel that their Councillor is accessible, approachable and willing to listen.

“Every municipal dollar ultimately comes from taxpayers. We can improve Ingersoll without spending money simply for the sake of spending money.”

– Dr. Lou D’Orazio
