Support the campaign

A small-town budget, spent carefully

Lawn signs, printing, postage and a website. That is the campaign. If you would like to help pay for it, here is exactly how contributions work in an Ontario municipal election.

The rules, in plain language

What the law allows

  • Individuals only. Only people who normally live in Ontario may contribute.
  • No corporations, no unions. Businesses, trade unions, political parties and governments cannot contribute to a candidate.
  • $1,200 maximum from any one person to this campaign.
  • $5,000 maximum from any one person across all candidates running for Ingersoll Council.
  • Cash is capped at $25. Anything larger must be by cheque, money order or a traceable electronic transfer.
  • Contributions cannot be pooled. The money must be your own.
  • A receipt is issued for every contribution and the campaign’s finances are filed publicly with the Town.
  • Contributions over $100 are disclosed publicly with the contributor’s name and address.
These are not tax receipts. Contributions to a municipal campaign are not tax-deductible and do not qualify for a charitable or political tax credit. Ingersoll does not offer a contribution rebate program.

Offer a contribution

Fill this in and the campaign will contact you to arrange the payment and issue your receipt. No payment is taken through this website.

Can’t contribute? That’s completely fine.

A lawn sign, a conversation with a neighbour, and a ballot mailed back on time are worth more to this campaign than a cheque.
